Privacy policy.
South Africa · How we handle personal information and your privacy rights.
Last updated: 20 October 2026.
1. Who is responsible for your information
This policy explains how Adrenalin Advertising (Pty) Ltd, trading as Adrenalin, registration number 2019/292761/07 ("Adrenalin", "we", "us") handles personal information associated with this website under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Responsible party's address: CUBE WS Fourways, 9 The Straight, Pineslopes 2194, South Africa.
Address privacy enquiries and requests to The Information Officer at info@adrenalin.agency.
This policy covers processing by the South African company through the website and related correspondence. The Zimbabwe company has a separate notice. The responsible company and applicable law depend on the actual processing and relationship, not simply your browsing location. Separate notices may apply to client projects, recruitment, productions or Mina Lawe services. A future independent Mina Lawe website will have its own notice.
2. Information we handle and why
Browsing the website. Our hosting service, Afrihost, processes ordinary technical requests needed to deliver and protect the website. These may include IP addresses, requested pages and files, timestamps, browser and device information, referring pages and error records. We use this information to operate the website, diagnose faults and protect it against misuse. This processing serves our legitimate interests in providing a reliable and secure website, subject to your rights under POPIA.
Contacting us. If you contact us directly, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, organisation, enquiry area, project details and message, together with subsequent correspondence. We use it to respond, assess your requirements and, where relevant, take steps towards a contract at your request. Where no contract is involved, responding to genuine business correspondence serves our legitimate interests, subject to your rights. We may also retain relevant records to meet applicable legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Online enquiries. The form sends your name, email, selected office, enquiry area, optional production project and message to info@adrenalin.agency through Google Workspace. Enquiries and subsequent correspondence are held in our company mailbox. We use your address to reply and do not subscribe you to marketing merely because you enquire.
We obtain enquiry information directly from you, or from someone authorised to contact us on your behalf. Technical information comes from your browser and hosting requests. Please do not send identity documents, financial account details, health information, children's information or other sensitive information through a general enquiry.
3. Your choice to provide information
You can browse without submitting an enquiry. Contacting us is voluntary: no law requires you to send a general website enquiry. We need enough information to understand your request and a usable contact address to reply. If you withhold that information, we may be unable to respond or provide the requested assistance. Technical requests necessary to deliver a page occur when you browse it.
4. Cookies, video players and external websites
The Adrenalin website has no analytics or advertising pixels of its own. The enquiry form uses a necessary, secure session cookie to protect submissions. Temporary hashed network identifiers and submission counts are used to limit abuse; rate-limit records expire from active use after one hour and are removed during subsequent submissions. Enquiry contents are not saved in a separate website database. Legal pages can use approximate IP-based country information from a local country-mapping database or the hosting server to suggest an office. We do not request precise device location or send IP addresses to a separate geolocation service for this feature. An explicit office choice is remembered in this browser tab’s session storage until the session ends. You can switch offices at any time; the selection does not limit your rights under applicable law. Fonts, images and other design assets are served with the website. Hosting and security services may process technical connection information.
Videos are hosted on Vimeo. A Vimeo player is loaded only after you choose Play. Loading it connects your browser to Vimeo and can disclose your IP address, browser/device information, the referring page and playback activity. Vimeo may use cookies or similar technologies under its own settings and policies. You can avoid that connection by not loading a video; doing so does not prevent you from reading the rest of the website. Read Vimeo's privacy policy for its handling of viewer information, including international processing.
Your browser may separately keep history, cached files and autofill entries. You can manage those through its settings. External sites reached through links operate under their own notices. If we add analytics or other optional tracking, we will update this policy and implement any required choices before enabling it.
5. Who can receive information
Information may be accessed by authorised Adrenalin personnel who need it for the purposes above; hosting, IT, security and email providers delivering relevant services; and professional advisers where reasonably necessary. It may be disclosed to a competent authority where lawfully required, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We do not sell website enquiry information or use a general enquiry as permission to add you to a marketing list.
Where a service provider acts as our operator, POPIA requires appropriate contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We remain accountable for processing carried out on our behalf. Vimeo also handles viewer information under its own privacy policy.
6. Information outside South Africa
Vimeo operates internationally, and video-viewing information may be processed outside South Africa. International locations do not necessarily provide identical statutory protections. Transfers for which Adrenalin is responsible must satisfy section 72 of POPIA, for example through a law or binding agreement providing substantially similar protection, or another applicable statutory ground. We do not treat browsing this policy as blanket consent to international transfers. Contact our Information Officer for information about safeguards applicable to your information.
7. How long information is kept
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a law, contract or other lawful ground permits or requires longer retention. Records no longer lawfully needed are deleted, destroyed or de-identified. Client, contract and dispute records may need different retention periods from general enquiries. Backups may retain residual copies until their normal replacement cycle, with access restricted.
Our retention period for ordinary enquiries is 12 months after the last contact. Longer retention applies where a client relationship, contract, legal obligation or legitimate need to resolve a dispute justifies it. Technical logs and backups follow the relevant service retention cycles and are subject to the necessity limits above.
8. Security
We are required to take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to prevent loss, unauthorised access and unlawful processing. These include measures proportionate to the information and risks, and suitable controls over access and service providers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a security compromise occurs, we will assess it and notify the Information Regulator and affected people where required by section 22 of POPIA, subject to lawful exceptions and directions.
9. Your privacy rights
Subject to POPIA's conditions and lawful exceptions, you may ask whether we hold your personal information and request access; request correction, deletion or destruction of information that is inaccurate, excessive, outdated, unlawfully obtained or no longer authorised to be retained; object on reasonable grounds to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
Send requests to the Information Officer using the contact details above. We may ask for proportionate evidence of identity or authority to protect your information. We will explain any applicable procedure, lawful fee, refusal or retention restriction. POPIA access requests may also involve the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA). We do not use this website to make decisions with legal or substantial effects about you based solely on automated processing.
You may complain directly to South Africa's Information Regulator without first complaining to us. See the Regulator's complaint procedures and submission channels or contact enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, telephone 010 023 5200. We also welcome the opportunity to address your concern through our Information Officer.
10. Changes
We will update this policy when our services or information practices change. The effective date will appear on this page. A policy update does not, by itself, authorise a new incompatible use of your information or replace consent where consent is required.
